What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM card that allows you to activate a cellular plan from a carrier without having to use a physical SIM card. It's built into your device, making it easier to switch carriers or plans.
Which phones support eSIM?
Most of the latest iPhone models, as well as several Google Pixel and Samsung devices, support eSIM functionality. You can find a more detailed list of compatible phones here.
Can I use my physical SIM card at the same time?
Yes, you can. All of our eSIMs are data-only, which means they provide mobile data but do not come with a phone number. This allows you to continue using your primary SIM for calls and texts while using the eSIM for data. Most phones today support Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) technology, meaning both your physical SIM and eSIM can be active simultaneously.
Can locked phones use eSIM?
No, your phone needs to be unlocked to use an eSIM. Otherwise, you will need to contact your carrier to unlock your phone before you can use an eSIM.
Installation & Activation
When should I install the eSIM?
You can install your eSIM right after you receive it, even before you travel. However, please activate your eSIM only when you arrive at your destination and are ready to use it. This will help you avoid any accidental early activation.
How do I install the eSIM?
Please follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Add Data Plan.
- You can scan the QR code that appears in your account dashboard. You can also manually input the details.
- Follow the prompts on your device to install the eSIM.
- Once installed, you can label your eSIM plan (e.g., "Travel" or "Second SIM").
- When you arrive at your destination, go to Settings > Mobile Data > Select your eSIM plan > Turn On This Line > Data Roaming.
When does the data validity start?
The validity period of your data plan starts when the eSIM connects to a supported network.
Can I install the eSIM before arriving?
Yes. We recommend you install the eSIM before your trip. Simply turn it on once you arrive at your destination.
How long is the QR code valid?
The QR code itself does not expire. However, once activated, the eSIM will be valid for the duration of the purchased plan (e.g., 5 days, 10 days, 30 days).
Data & Usage
Does the eSIM include calls or SMS?
No. Our eSIM plans are data-only and do not include calling or SMS services.
Is the internet unlimited?
No, there is a certain amount of data. Once the data is used up, the internet will be disconnected or the speed will be throttled. Please refer to the product details page for more information.
Does it support 5G?
Yes, all of our eSIMs support 5G as long as your device supports 5G and you are in an area with 5G coverage.
Can I share hotspot?
Yes, you can share your eSIM’s data by turning on hotspot on your device.
Which apps can I use?
All apps that require an internet connection, such as WhatsApp, Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and web browsers, will work seamlessly with your eSIM. However, please be aware that certain social media platforms may be restricted in specific countries.

Why is there no signal?
There may be no signal because the local network is unstable. You can try turning on and off your phone's airplane mode, or restarting your phone, and selecting the network again after a few minutes. If it still doesn't work, please contact customer service.
What if I delete the eSIM?
If you accidentally delete your eSIM, don't worry! You can easily reinstall it from your Airalo account.
Can I move the eSIM to another phone?
No, an eSIM profile is unique to the device it was installed on. It cannot be transferred to another device.
What should I do if I still cannot connect?
If the above troubleshooting steps still don't resolve the issue, please try these:
1. Restart your device.
2. Manually select a supported network carrier. Instructions for iOS: Go to "Settings" > "Cellular" > "Network Selection" and turn off "Automatic". For Android: Go to "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Mobile Networks" > "Advanced" > "Network Selection" and turn off "Select automatically." Choose a network from the available options (you might need to try a few options).
3. Reset your device's network settings. Instructions for iOS: Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Transfer or Reset iPhone" > "Reset" > "Reset Network Settings." For Android: Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Reset options" > "Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth." (Note: This will delete all saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings.)

Validity & Support
How long can I use the eSIM after activation?
You can use the eSIM for the number of days indicated on the product page. Please note that the number of days starts counting immediately after activation. For example, if you purchase a 5-day eSIM and activate it at 11:59 PM, it will expire 5 days later at 11:59 PM.
Can I extend my data plan?
Yes, you can extend your data plan before it expires (only once). It will follow the same validity period as your current data plan. For example, if you are extending a 7-day data plan, the extended plan will also be valid for 7 days.
When will I receive the QR code?
You will receive the QR code and instructions via email within an hour once your order is confirmed. If you haven't received it, please check your spam folder. For further assistance, contact our 24/7 customer support.
Can I use the eSIM immediately after purchase?
Yes, you can. You should be able to activate it right after installation.
